An ex- Administration police officer who allegedly interrupted a family meeting and hurled imprintable insults at his mother and her friend for hosting a party for his sister after she returned from a foreign country has been charged with breach of peace.
Kevin Wangombe,40, is accused of hurling vulgar insults to his mother Margaret Muthoni and her friend Elizabeth Kibe at Kamulu Location in Ruai Sub County, Nairobi on October 10, 2025.
He is charged with offensive conduct at a public gathering namely a family gathering contrary to section 94 (1) of the Penal Code.
The accused person denied all the charges before Senior Resident Magistrate Stephanie Bett of Makadara Law Courts. He was released on a cash bail of Sh20, 000.
Ms Muthoni had hosted around 10 members of family and friends including Ms Kibe when her son arrived home at around 1pm and disrupted the meeting after violently stopping Ms Kibe from serving food to the visitors.
Wangombe demanded to know what Ms Kibe was doing in the compound yet he was not a family member.
The confrontation made everyone scamper for their safety, including masons who were undertaking some construction works in the compound.
Ms Muthoni telephoned the Kamulu police station and officers arrested her son who was escorted to the station and booked into cells.
She later proceeded to the station where she made lengthy complaints against her son claiming he had a habit of hurling such insults at her.
The cases will be mentioned on December 9, 2025, before hearing starts on April 7, 2026.
