Chaii Republic, the global tea café brand reshaping how tea is experienced, has unveiled Café NBO at Chaka Place in Nairobi, its second flagship store in Kenya following the success of its Westlands branch.

The new outlet is positioned as more than just a café, blending authentic tea traditions with modern urban culture to serve as a community hub for conversation, creativity, and cultural exchange.

“Tea is more than just a drink – it’s a story, a culture, and a shared moment,” said Sara, Co-Founder of Café NBO, during the launch on Friday evening. “With Café NBO, we want to create a space where Nairobians can connect, linger, and celebrate life.”

Guests at the opening sampled Chaii Republic’s signature blends, from the traditional Kulhad Chai served in clay cups to Kashmiri Noon Chai, Moroccan Mint, Earl Grey, and the tropical Hibiscus & Mango. The launch also featured henna artistry, a live DJ, and a surprise musical performance, underscoring the café’s cultural vision.

Directors of Thrive Hospitality — Ashish, Ashok, and Vikram — joined media personalities, creatives, and lifestyle influencers at the event.

“This is just the beginning of our journey in East Africa,” said Ashish, CEO of Thrive Hospitality. “We believe Café NBO will become a home for conversations, creativity, and community.”

The new outlet extends beyond tea, offering a bistro-style food and beverage menu with freshly baked rolls, artisanal gelatos, and live-fired pizzas, blending Nairobi’s vibrant lifestyle with Chaii Republic’s global brand identity.
