Popular musician Samuel Muchoki Ndirangu, known as Samidoh

A Kenyan woman has gone to court accusing police and prosecutors of failing to act on her claim that popular musician Samuel Muchoki Ndirangu, known as Samidoh, raped her in the United States in 2021.
The woman, identified in court papers as M.R.W., says the attack happened on November 28, 2021, at an Airbnb in Overland Park, Kansas, while Samidoh was on tour.
She says she reported the matter to US police and later to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations in June 2025, but nothing has been done.
“The subject of the petition is a sexual offence apparently committed by the Interested Party, a Kenyan citizen, abroad, which by law can be tried in Kenya,” said her lawyer, Sunday Memba Mayama.
She wants the High Court to order police to investigate, the Director of Public Prosecutions to decide on charges, and the Attorney General to work with US authorities to get evidence.
M.R.W. says she has audio recordings of alleged admissions by Samidoh and fears the evidence could be destroyed.
She also claims he sent her threats and insults after the incident.
“I resisted and pleaded with him to stop, but he mocked my protestations and without my consent committed the offence,” noted M.R.W.
The petition has been filed under a certificate of urgency, with the woman saying she is still suffering and that key evidence could be lost if the case is delayed.
