Police in Diani, Kwale County, have arrested two German nationals and a Kenyan woman after a raid uncovered what officers believe to be a cannabis farm in Mwabungo village.
Acting on a tip-off, officers stormed a residence in the Romika area and found green plants suspected to be cannabis sativa being cultivated within the compound.
The suspects were identified as Heck Klaus Edmun and Wegener Geb Sikora, both German passport holders on tourist visas, and Natasha Wangari, a Kenyan citizen.
Investigators processed and documented the scene before taking the trio into custody. Police confirmed that the suspects will be arraigned in court.
The arrests come barely a month after police in the same area apprehended two suspects, including an Italian national, following a major anti-narcotics operation.
In that raid, officers from the Anti-Narcotics Unit and the Kenya Police targeted a fortified one-acre property where cannabis plants were being cultivated.
During the operation, police arrested 37-year-old Italian national Gianardi Giulio and a Kenyan, Moses Nanoka Egadwa, after discovering laboratory equipment, chemicals and packaging materials believed to be used in the processing and distribution of illegal substances.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing, with security agencies stepping up surveillance in Kwale County following growing concerns over the use of private residences as drug cultivation and processing sites.
