The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) on Wednesday joined Kenyans in the inauguration of Katiba Day, following a proclamation by President William Ruto at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Nairobi.

The ceremony marked fifteen years since the promulgation of the 2010 Constitution, hailed as a turning point in Kenya’s governance and national identity.

KDF personnel presented the Instruments of State Power, including the National Anthem lyrics, the National Seal, the Coat of Arms, and the National Flag. The Attorney General formally handed over a copy of the Constitution of Kenya (2010).

In his address, President Ruto described the Constitution as the anchor of Kenya’s democracy and freedoms, urging citizens to remain steadfast in defending its values.

“The realization of a just, peaceful, and prosperous nation is a collective responsibility resting upon every citizen and institution,” he said, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to inclusivity, justice, and unity.
